Turn the Project You Just Shipped Into a Launch Video With /brag

The /brag skill renders a short shareable launch video — music, motion, and share copy — from any project directory, in one command.

You spent a month building it and thirty seconds announcing it. /brag, a 14k-star agent skill from Latent Spaces, flips that ratio: from any project directory it produces a short, shareable launch video with music, motion, and share copy — one command, with the video generation handled by Hyperframes.

Why This Skill Matters

A launch post with no visuals dies in the feed. Video normally means a timeline editor, stock assets, and an evening. /brag owns the story instead — the product angle, the tone, which moments to show — then hands a focused brief to Hyperframes, which builds, times, and renders the clip. Proof it works on its own diet: the looping video on the project's launch site was made by /brag on this very repo.

Installation

Claude Code users install through the plugin marketplace:

/plugin marketplace add latent-spaces/brag
/plugin install brag@brag

Codex uses its own marketplace commands (codex plugin marketplace add latent-spaces/brag, then codex plugin add brag@brag). For any other agent — Cursor, Copilot, Gemini CLI, opencode — one command via the skills CLI:

npx skills add https://github.com/latent-spaces/brag --skill brag

Add -g to install globally; drop it to scope to the current project. No installer? The README documents a direct copy: rsync -a --exclude '.DS_Store' skills/brag/ ~/.claude/skills/brag/, then restart Claude Code.

Requirements before you run it: an agent that supports Agent Skills, Node.js 22+, FFmpeg on your PATH, and the Hyperframes CLI — check the Hyperframes install with npx hyperframes doctor.

Real Workflow: Brag About the Repo You Are In

  1. From the project directory, tell your agent:
我们给这个项目做个 /brag 发布视频
  1. Steer the tone if you want one — the README's own example is --tone "fake Series A launch from 2016".
  2. When it finishes, look in brag-output/: the plan, a composition brief, share copy, and the rendered brag.mp4.
  3. Post the video with the share copy. Iterate the tone and rerun if the first cut feels off.

The output is a rendered MP4, not a project file — there is no timeline to tweak inside /brag; the lever it gives you is the brief and the tone.

Tips

  • Voiceover is off by default. Turn it on explicitly with /brag --voice (narration runs through Kokoro via Hyperframes).
  • On Claude Opus 5.5, /brag switches to /brag-slim automatically — the same skill rebuilt lean, with no Hyperframes and no bundled assets. Run /brag --full to keep the classic workflow, or install just the slim variant with --skill brag-slim.
  • Would rather not run anything? letsbrag.app runs /brag for you — paste your site's link, get a 20-second video.
  • On Windows, cloning this repo needs git config core.symlinks true plus Developer Mode for the discovery symlinks; otherwise copy skills/brag/ into your agent's skill directory manually.

When Not to Use This

You need frame-level control, brand-locked motion graphics, or a specific aspect ratio and edit — that is a job for a real editor and your own composition. /brag is also a poor fit for anything where an auto-generated "fake launch" tone would land wrong, so read the share copy before you post it.
