Hand French Accounting and Tax Paperwork to Your Agent with Paperasse
Paperasse turns an AI agent into six French-bureaucracy specialists — accountant, tax inspector, statutory auditor, personal-tax adviser, notary, and condo manager — grounded in open data, with Qonto and Stripe connectors and an aggregate eval of 88% with the skills versus 75% without.
French bureaucracy has its own accounting plan, its own tax forms, and its own notary fees — generic agent skills know none of it. Paperasse is a 3k-star collection of six Markdown skills that specialize an agent in French accounting, taxation, invoicing, notarial work, and auditing. The skills work with any agent that can read files; the README lists Claude Code, Claude Cowork, Codex, Mistral Vibe, Cursor, Windsurf, Cline, and Aider.
Why This Skill Matters
The six skills split the paperwork by profession. comptable handles bookkeeping against the 800+ accounts of the PCG, VAT, corporate and income tax, a 12-step annual close, the FEC file, and the liasse fiscale, plus compliant invoicing — including the 2026 e-invoicing reform, Factur-X, and e-reporting. controleur-fiscal simulates a DGFIP tax inspection across 8 axes and names the redressement grounds with their legal basis and amounts. commissaire-aux-comptes runs a NEP audit in 7 phases with cross-validation across balance sheet, income statement, and liasse. fiscaliste covers personal tax: income tax, IFI, the flat tax versus the schedule, PEA, life insurance, LMNP, RSU and BSPCE, stock options, crypto, PER, the exceptional-income quotient, and the CEHR. notaire covers notary fees, real-estate capital gains, successions, donations, SCI, PACS, property diagnostics, and wealth advice. syndic runs condominium management — general meetings, calls for funds, decree-2005 accounting, works, suppliers, unpaid charges, and syndic transitions.
The safeguards are what make this usable for real numbers. Each skill checks a minimum company context — legal name, SIREN, legal form, VAT regime — reading company.json if it exists and asking otherwise. Each skill carries a last_updated date; past six months, the agent verifies figures online before answering. The reference data is open data: the full PCG and the liasse nomenclature from data.gouv.fr, public APIs for BOFiP and the Sirene company directory.
Installation
The recommended path goes through the agentskill.sh registry. Paste this into your agent:
Suis les instructions pour installer le skillset Paperasse depuis https://agentskill.sh/skillsets/paperasse
Lance ensuite le setup pour la gestion de toute ma paperasse
Or install from GitHub, which gives the agent the same setup flow:
Installe tous les skills du repo github https://github.com/romainsimon/paperasse
Lance ensuite le setup pour la gestion de toute ma paperasse
The agent clones the repo, installs the skills, and runs a guided setup that asks for your company name, VAT regime, and bank accounts. If you install manually, the README warns about symbolic links to the shared data, scripts, templates, and integrations folders: some installers that download folders one by one through the GitHub API turn those links into small text files, and the skill can no longer find its resources.
Real Workflow: From Bank Lines to the Annual Close
- Pull your transactions. With the Qonto and Stripe connectors configured in
company.json— API keys in environment variables — run:
npm run fetch # Récupère Qonto + Stripe
- Ask for the close in one sentence:
Fais la clôture annuelle de ma société
- Four stages chain across the skills: current bookkeeping (
comptable) classifies expenses, writes entries, handles VAT and bank reconciliation; the annual close (comptable) covers cut-off, depreciation, provisions, corporate tax, the FEC, the liasse fiscale, and the PDFs; the audit (commissaire-aux-comptes) verifies the FEC, cross-checks the statements, and issues an opinion; the tax inspection (controleur-fiscal) simulates the DGFIP review across 8 axes and names the redressement grounds. - Generate the deliverables with the Node scripts —
npm run closingproduces the financial statements, the 18-column FEC, and the PDFs in one go. The deterministic math lives incalc.js; prerequisites arenpm installand a filled-incompany.jsoncopied fromcompany.example.json.
Tips
- Show the unprepared agent the door. The repo runs evals with and without each skill, and the aggregate is 88% with versus 75% without —
commissaire-aux-comptesgains 25 points,fiscaliste20. The eval format is compatible with the official anthropics/skills skill-creator framework. - The comptable skill surfaces upcoming fiscal deadlines — corporate-tax installments, VAT, and more — at the start of every conversation.
npm run fetch:qontoandnpm run fetch:striperun the connectors separately; multiple Stripe accounts and Stripe Connect are supported.- Claude Desktop users should know the symlink limit:
comptable,controleur-fiscal,commissaire-aux-comptes, andnotaireshare resources through symbolic links, so a single-skill zip breaks them.fiscalisteandsyndicare standalone and upload fine.
When Not to Use This
The legal disclaimer is explicit: these skills do not replace a registered expert-comptable, a certified commissaire aux comptes, or a practicing notaire — they are preparation and decision-support tools. For complex situations (disputes, tax structuring, inspections already underway), the README says to consult a professional carrying professional-liability insurance and a SIRET number. And the coverage is France-specific: community forks exist for Tunisia and Belgium, but the README marks them as not maintained by Paperasse, with tax and legal reference freshness the responsibility of their authors.
