baoyu-skills Turns Claude Code Into a Content Studio

A 26k-star, install-as-needed collection of 20+ skills — Xiaohongshu cards, infographics, hand-coded SVG diagrams, slide decks, comics — plus a WeChat publishing pipeline.

#tutorial#creative#productivity

Publishing one polished article usually means four tools: a card maker, a diagram tool, a slide builder, and whatever your publishing platform demands. baoyu-skills — a 26k-star collection from Baoyu — bundles that pipeline into skills your agent runs: image cards, infographics, diagrams, slide decks, comics, and a WeChat publish flow.

Why This Skill Matters

These are skills for daily work with AI agents (Claude Code, Codex, and others), and the README's own tip is the right place to start: the repository contains 20+ skills, so install only the ones you need — bulk-installing every skill adds context overhead on every run.

The content skills cover the whole deck:

  • baoyu-xhs-images breaks content into 1–10 cartoon-style cards across a Style × Layout system: 12 styles from cute (default) to sketch-notes, 6 layouts from sparse to flow.
  • baoyu-infographic analyzes your content and recommends layout-and-style pairings; layouts run from pyramid and funnel to fishbone and venn, with craft-handmade as the default style.
  • baoyu-diagram writes real SVG code — the README is explicit that no image model is called — in flowchart, sequence, structural, illustrative, and class types, with embedded styles and automatic dark mode.
  • baoyu-cover-image combines five dimensions (Type × Palette × Rendering × Text × Mood); 11 palettes with 7 rendering styles give 77 unique combinations.
  • baoyu-slide-deck outlines first, then renders slides and merges them into .pptx and .pdf files; 8–25 slides is the recommended range, 30 the max.
  • baoyu-comic builds knowledge comics with independent art-style and tone flags.

Installation

npx skills add jimliu/baoyu-skills

Or as a Claude Code plugin marketplace — the marketplace exposes a single plugin, so each skill registers exactly once:

/plugin marketplace add JimLiu/baoyu-skills
/plugin install baoyu-skills@baoyu-skills

Prerequisites are a Node.js environment and the ability to run npx bun commands.

Real Workflow: Turn a Draft Into a Xiaohongshu Card Set

/baoyu-xhs-images posts/ai-future/article.md --style notion --layout list

The skill splits the article into cards under the chosen style and layout; --palette macaron overrides the colors, and --yes skips all confirmations for scheduled runs. Direct content input works too — a topic string instead of a file path.

Real Workflow: Publish an Article to WeChat

The README names the minimal set for a WeChat Official Account workflow: baoyu-cover-image, baoyu-article-illustrator, and baoyu-post-to-wechat. The last one already includes the Markdown-to-WeChat-ready-HTML conversion, so baoyu-markdown-to-html is not needed separately. Put WeChat API credentials in ~/.baoyu-skills/.env for user scope or <project>/.baoyu-skills/.env for project scope — and keep both out of Git.

Tips

  • Update through /plugin → the Marketplaces tab → baoyu-skills → Update marketplace, or just enable auto-update.
  • For a single project that needs a subset, Codex scans .agents/skills — copy or symlink only the skill directories you want.
  • Publishing to ClawHub releases individual skills under MIT-0, per that registry's rules.
  • Looking for a design-focused skill? baoyu-design is a separate project (JimLiu/baoyu-design), not part of this collection.

When Not to Use This

The collection is geared to content and publishing workflows — little here for coding tasks. And because every installed skill adds context, the install-what-you-need advice is not etiquette; a bulk install taxes every session you run.
