A weekly roundup of what moved in the Agent Skills ecosystem.

The Big Picture

The SkillMap leaderboard now tracks 118 repositories, up from 87 in April. Growth is still concentrated in collection repos, and this week brought one of the larger single-day entries the tracker has recorded.

Trend 1: The Official Repo Pulls Away

anthropics/skills crossed 165K stars, up about 52K since the April digest. It remains the canonical source, and the gap to the rest of the field keeps widening.

Behind it, production-grade engineering skills keep compounding:

Trend 2: NVIDIA Debuts SkillSpector at 14K Stars

The standout this week is NVIDIA/SkillSpector (dev-tools). It entered the leaderboard on July 31 with roughly 14K stars — one of the larger single-day entries this quarter. A large vendor shipping agent skills as a first-class artifact is a signal the format has moved past hobbyist territory.

Trend 3: Non-Developer Skills Keep Their Momentum

Skills outside the dev-tools lane continue to grow, not just persist:

  • K-Dense-AI/scientific-agent-skills (32K, data) stays the science library leader.
  • phuryn/pm-skills (24K, dev-tools) keeps adding product-management commands.
  • New entries include kangarooking/cangjie-skill (Huawei's Cangjie language, 5.6K), iflytek/skillhub (devops, 4.9K), and prompt-security/clawsec (prompt security, 1K).

The pattern from the spring holds: teams are shipping skills for their own stack, not just for Claude Code.

Coming Next

Up next, the skills tooling layer (CLIs, registries, and hubs) as more vendors ship their own collections. If you maintain a skill repo, submit it through the leaderboard.
